The feathers in the background appeared to be from a goldfinch, presumably plucked by a sparrowhawk.
The angle of this bird looks like 45 degrees, as if it’s about to take off–great capture.

I guess I’m psychic 🙂 — the angle of the bird’s back and had is like a straight line, almost like a plane going up…once again, good job.
It looks like our red-breasted nuthatch, except for the gray cap. Ours has a black one, with a white eyestripe. Is this a very small bird?
It is the same size as our house sparrow, about 14cm. I think your sparrows are very similar to ours.
