      • Ah an L lens would explain the high detail, my 200mm L lens had an accident falling on the road – boo. I hear nothing but good things about the 5D mk3 but it is to rich for my blood. Stuck with a sigma 300mm budget lens and a lot of swearing or my canon 60mm and some smiling.

      • My 400mm is ‘poorly’ at he moment, the manual focus is not working, only I can’t bear to part with it to send it off for repair. I suppose it is as good a time as any as I can busy myself with macro subjects for a while. Sorry to hear about your lens. I hope it can be repaired.
