Moments to treasure
Very cool 🙂
A gazillion years ago, when I was back in East Anglia, I watched a Heron tackle a rat, something would have thought a Heron would be reluctant to take on. Whether it got it down its gullet I don’t know, it was screened by reeds.
Thank you Stephen. It does sound like a strange meal. I suppose if he spiked it and managed to kill it he could cope. I do recall a friend telling me recently that if a heron catches a mouse/vole (I can’t remember what it was now) he will take it to the water and wet it so that it goes down easily. I haven’t seen this so I can only relate it.
🙂 – I think it’s certain that a Heron rarely takes prisoners!
