    • This water rail spends most of his time in a canal and in the shade. I was very lucky that he came into the area I was watching because the sun was shining directly on this one little patch. I took loads of pictures! 🙂

  1. Marvelous image, wonderful reflection. I love the way the colors are such soft muted browns against his darker feather and orange beak. This reminds me of the Sora that we see here in the Florida wetlands (though the Sora’s beak is a bright yellow cone-shaped beak).

  2. Love the detail and reflection in your image. Amazing how a good photograph can capture the subtle details of small, camouflaged subject like this and help us fully appreciate it. A new species for me – thanks!
